Eccentric Butterfly Valve -> Triple Eccentric Butterfly Valve
The triple eccentric butterfly valve, which makes use of a metal seat, is therefore able to withstand a greater amount of pressure, compared to resilient seated butterfly valve. The seal of the eccentric disc could be either metal/Graphite multi-layer design, or fully metal-to-metal design. The multi-layer design could achieve zero leakage and simple maintenance, while the metal-to-metal design is more reliable in higher temperature and pressure. Basically speaking, triple eccentric butterfly valve is both applied in shutoff or throttling service.
Flanged butterfly valves have longer face-to-face dimensions and stronger structure, compared with wafer or lug type butterfly valves. The machining process is therefore more complicated than that of wafer or lugged butterfly valves. For butterfly valves size larger than 24", flanged end is recommended for longer service.
